RE: Remove heel shifter?
I dont use mine so I'm going to remove it.Damn thing gets in the way of my size 13 boot.
I'll make a cover for it at work and maybe a spacer.

RE: Remove heel shifter?
My 13s just don't mesh well with the heel shifter. I removed the POS, cut off the hub portion and made a dandy spacer.

Take it off, take it off!!! I mean, remove the thing, makes the floorboards much nicer..My 12's had about 1/4 inch total travel on the floorboards and that wasn't comfortable after about 10 minutes on the road...Maybe I need smaller boots??

RE: Remove heel shifter?
I've heard more people say they hate the heel shifter but I use mine all the time. Always stomping, rather I am downshifting or upshifting. When you upshift with the heel you're not going to miss a gear. Jusr My .02

The heel shifter SUCKS and is a safety hazard IMHO [:@] Another MOCO flaw.
Here are some pics of my quick/unique solution. I did change out the pegs - flat one on top / extended round one on the bottom.
I swear it is now a "POWER SHIFTER" due to the extra momentum in both directions - no effort up or down and always 100% in gear.
Maybe I should apply for a patent

RE: Remove heel shifter?
I have to agree with DCHoran...the heel shifter can be a safety issue. After getting hung up on mine a few times off it went. On went the E-Z Brake extended shifter and spline cap. Used a Kuryakyn oversized peg and I got a system that can't be beat!

If you have to ask that question???
Then you will need to buy the Official HD heel Shifter removal tool, Part # DIPSh^T-101
Good Luck with that!

RE: Remove heel shifter?
Or you can be different and remove the toe shifter and just use the heel shifter. 8-) Not sure how you would downshift though.
Oh and another thing. Ya can't just buy the cover cap at your local dealer. Ya have to ride at least 150 miles for it.
