The more touring I do,the more I look at an ultra,

Every time I ride an ultra, the more I love my roadking!

The RK feels more nimble but lacks some of the features of the ultra.

Give me a few more years and I'll probably be riding an ultra.......maybe not.....we'll see!

I think it's a mental mind game!

When I take my clear windshield off of my RK,It feels 200lbs lighter and more nimble........I'm still trying to figure that one out!!

I went from an '07 RKC to a '10 Ultra Limited. The limited seems like it handles every bit as well at low speeds as the Road King did. It certainly tracks better at highway speeds. I thought it would be more unwieldy at low speeds but it is not. I have not problems flatfooting either bike at 6'3", but feel that my feet or much more firmly on the ground on the Limited, I think due to the narrower seat at the front. The Sundowner seat I had on the RKC was more comfortable though.

I own on 08 Electra Glide here in Brazil for almost 2 years now. Last month I rented a 10 Road King with the tour pack for a Fly and Ride ( rented in DC, drove the Blue Ridge Parkway, Lynchburg TN to the Jack Daniels Factory, Dragon for 3 days and then Blue Ridge back to DC.

The road king had the tour pack so it has the same as my electra, but it had the new chassis and i can say, the difference is HUGE!!!! In low speed the new frame feels heavier but once you get to crusing speeds (40 mph and up) it justs feels way better, no wooble at all. I was so happy with the new frame that i even tried to make it wooble and nothing happend.

I feels realy good to drive in a place like the Blue Ridge without he faring in front of you.

Only thing i missed in the King, the sound, but its easy to fix that.

If it's what you want, feels good when you ride it....how can it be a mistake? What matters is how YOU feel about it.

If it's what you want....go for it!!! You can always get another Ultra.

In fall of '07 I bought a '08 RK and added a quick release tour pac. Can dress it up or strip it down as I like. Sometimes wondered what it would be like to have an Ultra with radio. T-boned a girl who ran a stop light. Bought a '09 Ultra to try while they fixed my RK. Road the Ultra off and on for a year with my RK when I got it back. Put 5000 miles on Ultra. Really nice bike, but tunes on the bike did'nt mean that much to me so I sold the Ultra. Have over 32000 on RK. Just like it better. To each is own.
