Just traded my 05 with original battery. Tested like new just a few months ago. Never had a tender on it at all. Garage kept in NC with 20K+ miles

Replaced mine on my 03 FLHTCi as PM. It was still working well, but i have learnt the hard way. To-days batteries are not like yesterdays batteries that gave you some warning when they were going. To-days batteries will start you without any issues in the morning then come time to go home from work are shot.

Cool OEM is the same as EAST PENN AGM battteries

I called the technical support at EAST PENN manufacturing. The EXT30L is the SAME battery as the OEM Harley. This guy actually worked on the assembly line.

The AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) is the same the cells and lead is the same. Only difference is the case is a different color. EAST PENN makes Deka, Extreme Power, NAPA, Batteries Plus,Fleet Farm, O'Reily Auto parts ..don't believe me....call for yourself.

No special HD Specifications or other "vibration" spec's...it's the same battery...as HD.

My '04 battery was still good at the 4 year point but I changed it before a long trip just to be safe. My '07 battery went out at the 4 year point. The '04 was a TC88 Wide Glide so maybe wasn't strained as much as my '07 Ultra battery, who knows...

I replaced both with HD batteries. 4 years is good for a battery, in my opinion. I don't use a tender because I ride every day, unless it's raining, which it hasn't done here in San Antonio in weeks.

Original lasted 5 years. Gave me no warning. Just left me stranded.

According to their website the EXT30L "Does not meet Harley-Davidson OEM specifications"
