Cool

06 with original battery. I use a BatteryMinder Plus. It's smaller and more compact than a Battery Tender. They claim to be the only ones who "desulphate" your battery. Uses a continuous kind of throbbing pulse upon completion of charging to clean out deposits that ruin a battery. Who knows!

I had no signs of trouble with the stock battery but I replaced it after 6 years. It was also on a battery tender 4 months during winter storage. I felt I was pushing my luck and happy to get 6 yrs.

Default Battery tender

I agree about battery tender. Will make battery last a lot longer. I had one on the riding lawn mower and it was going on 8 years on the battery. Trouble was if I left it off and skipped a week cutting the grass it would not start. Need to be carefully about letting the motorcycle battery get that bad.

My original '07 battery died at 3 yrs. 7 months and about 36.5k miles, and I kept it on a Tender most of the time when in the garage. I was a bit disappointed, actually, and expected better durability, but the HD dealer told me the AGM batteries were averaging 3-4 years. Mine apparently developed a bad cell, as it died very quickly.

Interesting. I just got back from helping a buddy get his bike going. One year old factory replacement battery won't hold a charge on his 05 RK.

'06 SG still running strong on the first with no tender and an '07 Superglide I keep having to put on the tender but it's still the first. Ride to work is only 10 miles so thats not really long enough for the chargin system to keep it fully charged plus the 96 motor pulls a little harder on the starter.
