Default Shifter linkage question

2010 fltrx the shifter linkage on the trans end has some play it does not seem loose just wondering if play is normal. The play is towards the tranny.
1000 miles on bike.

Need to be more specific. Are you referring to the linkage or the lever at the trans??

The linkage itself is riding on bearings at each end. Not certain if that is what you are referring to but you need to be more specific. Do you mean it tilts from side to side or actually loose? If loose, although not versed on the new bikes you may have a lock nut that is not tight.

If the lever itself. The upright one going to the trans is loose and wobbling then you need to check the bolt tightness. This could also cause damage to the slines on the shift shaft.

It's the lever goin g in the trans and the bolt is tight

The splines on the shift arm and or the shaft may be worn.

This should not move are wobble. Bike is under warranty so get it to a dealer. We haved had 2 bikes in this week with same issue. Owners got lucky and we did not have to replace any parts other than a new bolt. on one the bolt was actually missing.
