I just got off the phone with Bob Woods. He said that I was darned lucky to get the numbers that I did with the weather we are having. I had no idea that it made that much difference. Some, maybe, but not THAT much. He says different. He also reaffirmed that between weather, and the fact that my bike only had 1200 miles on it is why my numbers are a little less than expected. He claims that I could gain as much as 5hp and 5ft lbs once the bike loosens up.

Another thing, those true dual pipes rob torque too, its not rocket science, less back pressure less torque, louder it is less torque you have. You want gut ripping torque, a true 2 into 1 setup has been proven hands down the best system to use.
I go against that thought process with dyno runs that show it.

I had my bike dynoed earlier this year with the new '06 Rinehart true duals, and there was no torque dip at all. It was a nice curve with no dips and he power coming on steady from 2500.
Then he showed me a dyno sheet for a Thunderheader 2-1 from my buddy's bike, stage 1, and it had a huge torque dip in the low end, and then made the same peak numbers as my Rineharts.....only higher up in the powerband and coming on around 3000.

It looks as though the new Rineharts have fixed the torque dip troubles that they had in the past.

Steve

Here's my Jan. chart with SE slip ons (73.7 / 80.5), SERT & A/C! No way a true dual system will out perform a 2-1. Maybe its the weather.

I have nothing against Rineharts, love the sound & looks, but to say they would out perform a Thunderheader 2-1 or any other 2-1, baffles me.

I am with Topper on this one. While the ThunderHeader does have a bit of a low-end dip, in some configs, there are some 2 into 1's that have none and there really is no comparison. However, the look is more important to some and that's fine.

Some, like me, actually prefer the look of a 2 into 1.

Oh.... wait, have we had this conversation before?

Just a quick question.Nice lookin' bike, but was it sitting around awhile before they did the swap?Does it have the cold start and stumble after the pipes were installed with the 8 degree injectors?

The bike ran fine before anything was done. Has ran fine since the modifications.

Would take a good 2 into 1 over those true stools any day , have a buddy that put those t-rex duals and lost a bunch of torque . He ended up putting the t-rex on the shelf and getting a pro pipe to restore power .

I have been such a bum here lately. I am going on a ride saturday that should get me a couple of hundred miles on the scoot. That will get me to the point that the tuner will install the HD download, and bump me up to 60% throttle. Then I will only need to get about 300 more miles to get my numbers. I have been out of the loop for about 6 weeks. I knew that I would be so thats why I planned to give up my bike to have that work done. They actually got it done much quicker than I expected. As I have said before......the Seat-o-the pants dyno numbers are very impressive!
