Default 1K Service Done

Well I bit the bullet and had HD do the initial service on my Ultra. $337 later it's done with Synthetic oil throughout. I already have a service manual, so the next one (5K) is going to be done by me.

Two initial observations. First of all, I can now find Neutral first time every time. It used to be a frustrating operation to get it into Neutral. The other thing is that my EITMS didn't come on once on the way home, even though I hit some heavy traffic and long lights. Before, it would have come on I think.

It's not a bad idea to let the Dealer do the 1K. What synthetic oil did they use? I've noticed a lot of Dealers around here are selling Amsoil. They offer it for the same price as HD Syn3 with the service.

Yours looks like an 09, am I right? They didn't put 20W50 in all three holes did they? I had an 09 and it came with 20W50 Dino oil in the motor, Belray 85W140 in the Tranny and formula+ in the primary. The first service, I had them put Amsoil 20W50 in the motor and Primary. Amsoil 75W90 in the tranny. I could tell a big difference riding home. I now have an 08 UC. I use Mobil1 20W50 V-twin in the motor now, I'm switching back to Amsoil my next service. Redline Shockproof heavy in the Tranny. I do my own service now. Lot of fun working on your bike. Saves some $$$ too.
