I just finished this project on a 09cvo, I changed out a late 09 header with a cat to a early 09 with no cat, heres the spec. stock-81.8hp and 95.9# of torq. no cat- 86.2hp and 104.1# torq. and also droped the heat at the at the cross over 91 degrees.
My Dealer told me that the Fatshotz's don't seem to work well in any motor larger than a 96" ,, This might be part of your heat problem,, The Fatshotz were made for 96" motors with a Cat in the head pipe,,, I have a set on a 09 without the Cat and they sound great Low Deep Sound ,, They sound about the same as the JackPots I had before just a lower tone,,,I like them a lot
I wanted the cats gone also so I bought a 2009 headpipe off ebay for $35, at the same time I was doing a stage one with SE backplate, K&N filter, Doebeck TFI which does not use the O2 sensors, so I plugged them off, and dyno tune jackpots. I love it!!!!
I ordered the Power Duals for an '09 to go on my '10 Street Glide on Jamie at Fuel Moto's recommendation. He said that with the '09 setup, it has the correct bung size if I decide to add the autotune module to the PCV. (stock O2 sensors aren't used anyway with the Powercommander V alone)
The cat removal doesn't require any tune or other action at all.
The cross talk between the two 0-2 sensors is bs. The sensors are located about 6 inches up into the individual head pipes and have no access to the flow from the other cylinder.
The emc will maintain the emissions to factor specs.
I have decided to go with the Vance and Hines Powerduals, the TTS tuner, and a modification kit from Supertrapp that will add a few disks and a closed endcap on the Fatshotz slippons.
