Default what's different about 2008 and newer seats?

I'm Wondering if a newer seat would fit my 04. Thanks

Nope. Attachment points to the frame and shape of the seat noses were changed in 2008 when they went to the bigger gas tanks. Sorry

omgtkk is correct. Seats for 2008 and later models will not go on older bikes. It is primarily because of the switch from five gallon to six gallon tanks. In particular, the front mounting was reversed. That is, the tongue and hole were switched.

But with a little fabrication anything can be made to work where it wasnt originally intended!
