I keep up with the "service recommendation" and use Amsoil in all 3 holes. I have changed the motor oil earlier if I was stuck in traffic a lot like during bike week and than go back on the service cycle.

In the extreme heat of the summertime, I change the oil at least every 2500 miles. In cooler and cold weather, I change it every 3000 miles. If I do any parade duty in the summer, the oil gets changed immediately when I get home.

If you just changed it before you put it up for the winter, why would you change it at the beginning of the next riding season?

That's some crazy **** there!!!!!

That's what I was thinking! Way at the end and then at the beginning?? Do it at the end of season and your bike has fresh oil for the storage season. I do all 3 every 5k.

Am I missing something here? Why would you change your oil before winter storage and then again at the beginning of the riding season? This would equal no miles on your winter storage oil change.

Using dino, and it sitting on winter in an unheated storage unit, with temp changes, chance of condisation is a good possibility(water in the oil). I would most likely change the oil, and not the filter unless I had rode it during the winter. Just my thoughts, goes back to 3 months or 3,000 miles.
