Thanks for the full install report... very, very informative.

I looked at their website and see they don't have a set with the '10 style o2 bungs yet. However, that's easy enough to overcome or, probably, just wait a while - they'll do them next. These are some really good looking pipes either way so I'm real interested in seeing your ride report too.

Thanks again,
Steve

Could you please post a picture from under the bike. I'm running a bagger brace and would love to try the pipes, but want to make sure they will work.

This set did have O2 sensor ports but there is a set specific for the '09 bikes, I would think these to be the same as '10.

As to the 'Bagger Brace' it states in the instructions it will not fit with most. If the brace attaches to the Trans/Oil pan this won't bolt up without major mods to brackets and mounts and with that the bolts may not take the shear pressure.

I thought MOCO went to the "50 State Legal" exhaust for touring scoots in '10 so now we're stuck with CAT Converters (until those of us in the free states fix ours anyway) and we also have new o2 sensors.

The sensors (now smaller thread-size and relocated back close to the headpipe exits) are fine and work real well with recent closed-loop tuners though. Therefore, the objective now is to fix the hot (as in REAL hot) CAT Converter problem.

Is this the same for 2009 too?

They may not offer for 2010's as to infringement problems with V&H Dresser duals as these do look alot like them.

First ride; 205 miles; mufflers are quieter at first then the left one begins to develop out, a little but not much compression popping on decel but no backfire pops at all so they are tight, mileage was same as normal and power same as had as best could tell. Had one drag on a tight slow right turn, reset the ACCU clamp to the crossunder a little closer to the frame and is fine now, had ground about two threads on it. No issues with curb crossing as to high centering, never once hit the crossunder pipe.

No odd vibration, no odd engine feel or noise although I could hear it distinctly; cooking metal odor was gone in first twenty minutes.

Heat, less heat on me to the right foot than usual, attribute that to the front head pipe being lower to the floorboard; almost no heat to the wife and no excess heat to the crotch/back of the thigh when slow speed operating as I had on the left side from the rear Y-pipe. Engine seemed to run cooler, may just be me but did not seem as hot presented to my ****.

Conclusion, these babies are keepers on my bike. Next ride, 450 miles to Ky and then home after 3 days of short tours.

There are better (IMHO) options for the 09-11 bikes such as the Fuel Moto or VH headers. Either of these will tuck up under the frame higher due to the newer oil pan having a cutout specifically for the clearance.

I went with these as V&H as others did not offer a cross under style for the pre-'09 bikes, there are many now for the '09 and up units that look just as these do or better. What I was originally going to do was V&H Dresser Duals but again they cross over in a reverse loop on the pre-'09's from the rear jug with heat to the seat as a issue, on the '09-up bikes they sit just as the new MoCo pipes but as true duals.

ddm502001; pipes look awesome - can you shim the brake post a bit to gain needed clearance? Does look like a tight fit - maybe KW needs to adjust their R&D to allow a dimple in this bend for added clearance.

Another option, it takes a little work and an oil pan swap but the 09-11 pipes from V&H and FM can be made to work on the earlier bikes. I looked at the Khrome Werks but due to availability I went with V&H on my 05.
