Default Signed my life away today

Hey All,

Well, just layed out the bread for a new 2010 Road Glide Custom. I ordered the 103ci with the Stage II kit, and Heavy Breather intake.

When I test rode this beast, I was coming off riding metrics my whole life. The latest is a 2009 Honda VTX 1300R. Well, the RG was a night and day difference in many aspects:

1) Throttle response (EFI vs Carb). Also, Belt drive vs shaft drive.
2) Smoothness, and easier shifting.
3) Real easy handling. I can flick this beast into corners with ease, while I felt that I had to shove the Honda around. Center of gravity seems much lower.
4) Passing power. Holy crap!
5) Attention to detail. Fit and finish is superior to the rice burner.

Anyway, I take delivery in several days, due to the updated powerplant. Other than trying to get the grin off my face while blowing past my riding buddies, anything about these that I should look out for, or?? What would be good RPM guidelines for keeping the engine happy and snappy?

Thanks,
carcass

Congrats on your purchase, and welcome to the world of Harley Davidson. I have owned metrics before and there is no comparison. All the accesories and clothing available at every dealer is amazing, so much different than the metric stores. The old saying that "if I have to explain you wouldnt understand is so true".

That's the first time I've read where someone described a Honda VTX 1300R performance and handling characteristics sub-standard to a Street Glide.
