Default New rear tire

I need to replace my rear tire. Where is the best place to purchase? What kind? I have a Dunlop 180/65B-16.

If you don't mind me asking, how many miles did you get out of your tire ?
Thanks Jonnierock

I got just over 14,000 on my 09 I could have gotten a few more maybe another 1,000 but was on a long trip and didn't want to chance it. Hopes this helps.

I just turned 10,000 miles. The Dunlop is not toast but the center is worn. Being a 180mm tire the flat area is quite large. If you run your hand over it you can feel where it goes flat to round. Hope that makes sense.

Put 7500 mi. on my first rear tire (`09 RG) A 2in. gash in the middle killed it. Only used 2/32 in. of tread. New one measures 10/32 in. Old one measures 8/32 in. after 7500 mi. Guess I`m an old man, but still an aerobatic pilot.

I'm very happy with the Dunlop D407 OE tire. I'm averaging 15000 miles. They are only available at Harley dealers.

I got one online last week from Latus Harley. $205 to my door.

If you can wait a while, the Dunlop American Elite will be available in your size. Most places I checked won't have them for a couple of more months. Prices seem to be in the $180 range.

Dunlop consumer relations says the American Elite will be available late August or Mid September.
