Good post. I've had it happen before and was meaning to ask about it. Good to know it's nothing to be concerned about.

never had it stock only after adding se backing plate on 2 bikes.

It could be the gremlin bell. As you ride, they capture the gremlins on the bike to prevent them from doing any harm. Then, when you shut down, they purge them out to be ready for the next ride. It makes a kind of chirping sound.
