Are you talking about valvetrain noise or exhaust noise? Valvetrain noise seems to be inconsistent between engines as some report new cams are as quiet as stock and others report ticking.
As for exhaust noise, typically the exhaust will be a little louder depending on the pipes and cam. I had Big Shot Duals, put in a set of Andrews 26 cams and the exhaust was quite a bit louder. Cam changes usually result in a change in cylinder pressure which will result in a different exhaust sound.

When you say louder, are you referring to the valve train noise or the exhaust note?
I just installed a set of se203's in my '07 RK and I"m considering a change due to the lack of noise. The valve train noise is as quiet as stock ( good thing) but so is the exhaust note. The exhaust note didn't change much after installing the 203's and I was hoping for a more aggressive sound. Can anyone chime in with there suggestion for a aggressive sounding bolt-in cam
