I have Shinko tires on my Road King I prefer them over the Dunlap they handle a lot better and last just as long, but I prefer about anything over the dunnies they seem like they are square after a couple thousand miles, don't do well in the rain compared to the Shinkos either.

Try a set of Dunlop's. E-3's to be specific. The old stock Dunlops don't look anything like the E-3's, and handle 100% better.

I love this!

"I never used them but they can't be good because even the name sounds cheap." "Put real tires on the credit card and just make the interest payments."

Yeah, that's using the old scientific method.

I have a set of Kenda Kruz on Pickles now. Cost me $128 for BOTH of them. It ain't Moto GP, I ain't Kenny Roberts, and Pickles don't see the high side of the ton.

They're round, they're black, they hold air, and they hold the road just fine for an 800 lb. under powered touring bike.

Sounds like several guys have had good results with them. I'd give 'em a shot if I needed new skins.

Not interested in them either. I am sure they are round, black, and hold air. The relialibity and safety concerns are to great for me. When I only have 2 tires between me and the ground, I am not willing to take chances on generic tires. I wont even buy generic tires for my cars, just not worth it in the long run.

I think they are halfway decent tires, they are catching up in durability...A lot of people buying Kenda Kruz but the load rating is just not as high as i like....I have run 71H rated on my bike 1 time (Avon Venoms) and they ran fine they didn't last as long as the Avons that were rated 77H but the did ok...got it for $40 i think...Shinko is making a OK tire, never used them ...I have IRC on my wifes Volusia 800 and they are very quiet and great in the rain...they don't track but this bike is very light...

I used Kenda Kruz for years.. seemed to a great tire, good traction dry/wet. Never had a single issue with them all the years I used them on my sporty and jap bikes... might consider a set on the SG but I'm having such good luck with the E3's that I think I'll spend the extra $.

I also ran Cheng Shin Barracudas on my Sportster for years. Ran them hard at Deal's Gap. Ran them over 140 MPH at the Maxton Mile (with a plug in the rear one too boot.) Even took the bike up a dirt logging trail in West By God Virginia. They cost me less than $50 each.

My point is, if you haven't tried them, can you really make a **qualified** recommendation?

I just did some research on the 777 whitewalls and if Dunlop doesn't offer the E-3's in a WW when I am ready, these may get the nod over my current Metzeler preference.
