When I removed mine I drained them and put them in the metal recycling bin. Maybe they can be made into something worth a **** the second time around!

I took one inch of line and heat sealed one end and installed the other end into the shock. No leaks and have been on their side for a year.

According to the Harley service manual, if your stocks leak any oil at all they are toast. I know guys have refilled them now and then but just sayin what the Harley Bible sez. I just took my air shocks off my Road King today, I just taped them on the back of a leg on my work bench outa the way. They will always be vertical, won't leak, and be outa the way until I decide what to do with them.

They have approximately 11 oz of oil in them. More than your forks actually.

They come with plugs so they can lay horizontal on the shelf.

If they leak while in service, properly installed on the bike, that is due to leaking seals, which are indeed not serviceable, however the 'leaks' mentioned here are due to incorrect storage and oil coming out of the air-bleed valve.

Actually, those seals have always been replaceable. Just that Harley doesn't want you to know it for some reason. Part number 91257-MG9-671, costs about $10.
