I run 18/18 but its a personal preference. I think 21 fronts look good on the SG's tho.

thanks guys after the crash a few people were telling me how if i i had the stock 16" on it prob would of been fine that they dont like 21"s but then again the same people have very limited to no experiance with a 21" on a bagger. The 450 miles i did that weekend before the crash the 21" felt great little better then stock even. Just had to ask you know how it is second guessing yourself after something like that happens.

Based on what, just curious? Aren't you making an assumption on a tire size? They make a 130/21...Avon I believe it is....

Isn't a stock tire basically a 130?

I have to agree with most everyone , you hit something in a corner your going down I have been running a 21" and 18" on my 09 bagger it's awesome rides better than stock, I've riding over 35 years so I have seen a few things on the road. Good luck...

Personaly I think the tire patch senario is somewhat valid although I believe the magins involved are minute. I love the look of the 21/18 combo but opted for 18's front and rear on my 09 SG because of the availibilty of tires if damaged on a long trip. Not to many HD dealers stocking 21" tires.

I've got 18k mi on my 21/18 combo with trips to the Dragon, the Snake, the Blue Ridge and about every other twisty road around. Never had an issue with traction. I keep a tire plug kit and compressor in the saddlebags in case of a tire problem, but haven't had to use them yet.

i'm gonna mix it up a little.. i think i'm going 19" - 17".. Although HD is the ONLY one right now making a 19x3.5" wheel... and although i like the Agitator style is don't think i wanna go 18" rear... and thats the only size Agitator rear they make ...i might have to go 19 x 3" and run a 120/19" front tire.. a smidge thinner then stock but good availablitly cuz it's basically a stock V-Rod tire size. Plus it open up a WIDE variety of style options...pretty much everyone makes a 19x3 front wheel...

I don't think the new Dunlop 130/19" would fit on a 3" wheel.. ANYONE SHED ANY LIGHT ON THIS????
