Does it really matter how I turn off the bike?

I guess its all a matter of habits...I've developed my habits for start up and shut down. Do both without having to think about it. I use the shut off switch everytime and I've NEVER run my battery down, and NEVER forgot to turn it back on before starting it. But then again, I also have a habit of putting my keys in the same place every night, so I never have to hunt for them. Some people just never develop habits like that and are always looking for their keys or running their batteries down.

I thought you were supposed to close the fuel valve on the gas tank and let it run dry so the fuel injection nozzles get cleaned out and dont varnish up the spark plugs.
Is that wrong? I never could understand why everyone is always waiting on me to get my bike turned off.... Learn something new everyday.

my wife uses the kill switch on her bike and I'm always telling her she needs to go back to her bike and turn the ignition off as all the lights are still on. I only use the kill switch if I'm parking on an incline where I have both feet on the ground, right hand pulling front brake and I'm leaving it in gear so it doesn't roll. then I use kill switch, then turn ignition off, and kill switch back on or I'll forget and not be able to find out why it won't start lol

I actually have an answer for this.
I only use the kill switch when my parking situation suggests that I leave the bike in gear (hill). I'm usually holding the brake and clutch levers so the kill switch makes the most sense. Otherwise, it doesn't matter at all as long as you remember to turn the ign off and hopefully you've lowered the radio first so you don't make a spectacle of yourself.
