Default Having problems installing Smart Security BAS codes

I bought what I thought was a new smart security system p/n 68200-07. I just took out the old tsm and plugged in the new tssm. Went through the programming procedure, but the security light will not go out after the 10 minute wait period. After checking codes I found 2. #1 was the p1009 which is wrong password. OK it wont marry so I see that one. #2 is the code b1153 bas out of range??? that one wont clear at all. I plug the original tsm back in and the code clears. Since this code wont clear I see why the light wont go out after 10 min. Why am I getting this code? Could the tssm be bad? I have tried to clear it and it keeps coming back. Any help would be great. I don't want to take it in and pay someone to tell me the tssm is bad.

Need to do the password learn procedure using the digital tech. If the BAS code still pops up I would double check the p/n on the actual TSSM. That usually occurs when a Softail TSSM is installed on a bagger or when the module is installed incorrectly.

p/n on the tssm is 68924-07 which should be the right module for my 09 flhx. I just unplugged the old one and plugged in the new one. I will have to try again after taking a break. Thanks for the reply

Just pulling the old one out and plugging the new one in won't work. You need to mate the new TSSM with the ECM. Only way I know to do it is using the Digital Tech. You then need to set a pin (or the security system will never activate) and then program the fob info so it will shut the security system off (or you're stuck using the pin every time).

I thought you actually can marry the tssm using the ignition on off method every 10 minutes 3 times. The procedure comes out of the electrical diagnosis manual. The FOB is the only thing I thought that the dealer needs to program to the bike. I am wondering if the bas code is what is preventing me from marrying the 2.
