Default Riding in the Heat

How many ride when it's in the high 90's? I know the guys in AZ, and places it stays hot do, but here is Missouri it's been over 90 for what seems like ever. The wife and I rode home from Harrison, Ark, yesterday and I thought we were going to fry. Even with several stops for water and to cool down, it was almost torture. I ride to work everyday, and was wondering what folks do to ride in the heat. I have one of those gel filled bandanas to wear around your neck, it did seem to help until it warmed up. Took my lowers off, opened the wings, etc. The wife was wearing shorts(can't break her of it)and her lower legs got so red they looked like they were going to blister..

Wife and I just did about 600 miles through the middle of Kansas, I swear it was every bit of 100 degrees, we just stopped alot and drank alot of water. 70 spf sunscreen does wonders.

Towards the end it was torture, so we did another 100 the next day just to be sure

I generally just deal with it and try to avoid any routes that will put me in heavy traffic. Stop and go driving is tough in hot weather!

Don't care how hot it gets. Just drink plenty of fluids and keep the sun screen on.

Rode 5 hours in the desert heat yesterday. About 105, not so bad with a water break every hour or so. Saw quite a few riders out too. Now 110+ is another story.

couldn't agree more! It has been hot around here lately so I just ordered some of those beads for the seat. Trying different things to see what works.
