I just remembered another tip a buddy told me about. He uses a sheepskin seat cover on his seat. It helps keep his backside a bit dryer and cooler during hot weather and warmer during cool riding. I haven't tried this but I do plan on getting one.

Gonna try the long sleeve shirt thing, we stop every 80-100 miles anyway to stretch and stuff, so I will let yall know how it goes, she has a mesh jacket, but I will try to pursuade her to try the long sleeve thing.....she drinks water all the time and I drink sports drinks/water as well....We stay out of towns like others have said just to avoid the stop n go, but when its upper 90's its hot no matter how ya cut it!

Thanks for all the tips guys!

I usually get my shirt wet, but in Texas some days are just almost too hot to ride. A couple of weeks ago we went and it was 108 degrees. The best ideal of the day was to turn around and hop in a buddy's swimming pool.

I rode the other day (90+) with my mesh jacket and full face helmet. REAL hot when stopped but not bad when moving. Over 100 I have to lose the jacket and put on sunscreen. I never go without the helmet though.

I ride unless it's raining when I leave the house. I wear long sleeves at work so that helps for the commute. But on a pleasure ride lots of hydration, sun screen and I wear light colored long sleeve t shirts. I do the mesh jacket but mine is black, need to get a lighter one. And of course always a helmet with a do rag.

This place makes a nice long sleeve shirt that is designed for riders. Prices are very reasonable.

I just put it on before I mount the bike, over a tee shirt I'm wearing. That way I have a regular shirt during the stops.
When it's real hot I just switch shirts.

They are thin and light colored and I don't get burned that way.
The UV is just killer down here when it's over 90 degrees.
I agree. I was beginning to think nobody else did that. A long sleeve White shirt keeps the hot sun off of the skin and helps prevent your perspiration from evaporating and also helps to keep you cooler. I always keep a clean White long sleeve shirt in a plastic bag in one of the saddlebags.

I ride no matter what the temp is when it's cold I wear layers making sure to block the wind; when hot I make sure there is very little between my mesh and me. When Hot I drink more water. The right mesh jacket make all the difference for me anyway, mine is better than not wearing one.

Just drink lots of water and try to keep moving. I've ridden many times when it's above 110° and my fuel tank is hot enough to cook bacon on. Having a black bike has its downside...
