Never ending repairs, when does it stop.

I got my 03 in late 02. Drive it whenever I can (which may not be that much to some), but never had any issues with it to date. Bought an 02 FLHTC a few years back an it seemed to be similar to yours. Sold that last summer, as it seemed to be somewhat continuous wrt issues developing. New replacement tourer is good so far, Guess every once in a while, a "lemon" is produced ( happens with various good car makers too). If it continues to be a problem, may be time to "upgrade". My old AMF seemed to present less problems than the 02 I had, yet most all of the current bikes seemed to be relatively problem free. Sorry about your issues.

Don't let that stop you. There are many design improvements on my '07 that I wish I had on my '04, but there are also more issues on my '07 that I didn't have on my '04. Keep in mind, as others have said, Harley's need a little more TLC than a metric, but it's part of the experience. I do all my own wrenching and enjoy it so that's my perspective.

It never stops !! Both my evos needed base gaskets, pulled my inner cam
bearing on the first it was good, rode the second one it went out at 32K
(cheep b@$#*%) I wonder how many evos motor were lost because they
saved 50 cent on the inner cam bearing? The last time I taked to my indy
he said he may have to split the case, on the 97 RK.
A long time ago I figure it cost me 1K a yr. to keep a Harley on the road.
And finally I figured if I have two Harleys, one to ride and one in the shop
I will always have a ride....I got to get the 97 out so I can have the oil leak
fixed on the 08. If I have to buy a third bike to have something to ride, I am
to WING it!! But if I admit ALL of my Harleys are a POS, how smart does
that make me...Its a good thing, I got more money than I got brains,
its a bad thing I dont have much money............LOL ........Tenn.Vol.

I had a riding buddy back in the 70s that loved HDs and worked on them constantly. He always said that "Harleys are a POS.... but a great POS." Note that this was in the AMF days.

Like I said before, EVERY MAKE of bikes have problems, just like HD or worse. What you never hear is how many thousands more owners of ANY MAKE of bike, have absolutely no problems with their toy.
All you hear of on messages boards, are 98% problems. They are here looking for help with them. Guys that have no problems, usually dont post anything.
