My light comes on at or around 32 mi. I usually run it down to below 10 miles and it takes close to 5 gallons to top it back off with the bike on the side stand. That leaves a gallon in the tank for just in case. I get 230 mile out of that 5 gallons, 46 miles to the gallon is to bad.

My wife's Toyota Yaris gets 42 miles to the gallon. But not near as much fun but it is air conditioned!!!!

 

My light comes on when I have 2 gallons left. If I ride until the R is at zero, I still have one gallon left.

Light comes on, I know I have at least 70 miles to find gas, no matter what the riding conditions are.
