I have a 09' no problems as of yet. I went with a Clearview 8" for more coverage on the long haul, as for the buffeting, the batwing has been around for years and was made for style not function. The seat is good for 2 1/2 hours but I'll bet you'll run out of gas before then. With anything but stock bars the fairing mirrors would have to go.

Went from a street bob to a glide myself. and I don't think your going to have a any issues with a short windshield (as your not running one now) and the shocks are better than what your running now. I have 36,000 mile on my 2009 and other than getting ready to put new tires on pre Sturgis, the only thing I have done is Stage one chip burn pipes and air cleaner...best move I have made...I don't know how old you are but at 41 I can use a few more comfort items on my scoot...pull the trigger you wont regret it.

The overall bike is great my personal seat issues were my only downer on this bike. If you get one I suggest throwing that cheap plastic seat in the garbage when you are in a dealer put your hand on each side of the stock seat and lift up see what you think.

I bought my 06 in august of 08 w/942 miles I have 7600 on it now and have loved every minuet riding it, no mechanical issues at all, but the stock windshield and seat do suck! the seat is worse for passenger than driver though. buy one you wont be sorry!

You will love it. Do what you like. I put on a shorter windshield from Klock Works and have over 32,000 miles on it in three years, so to each his own.
