Default Amsoil and HD Syn 3....Heat

It's hot in Texas. Nothing new about this or that the bikes get hotter. I have run Amsoil in all three holes on my bike for the last 10K miles. Friday I had a service done at the dealer and had run out of Amsoil, and went ahead and just had HD Syn 3 used along with Redline for the Tranny. Since then, the bike is running about 5-10 degree warmer than it had been with the Amsoil, from say 200/205 with Amsoil to around 210-215 with Syn 3. I do have an oil temp guage. Not much but noticeable. I've got a good tune particularly as it relates to heat management, and had almost forgotten about heat issues on my bike till this recent service. Again, nothing overly dramatic but noticeable. I don't follow oil threads much. Is this to be expected? If so I will likely just dump the Syn 3 and refill with Amsoil.

I use Amsoil myself. Suppose to be pretty darn good. Guess time will tell.

I did the same thing, only I switched to Mobil-1 in my case. Next oil change I went back to Amsoil and she cooled back down. I'm happy for the guys that ride in cooler climates and have success with Mobil-1. But here in the desert where our average temps are 105-115 degrees, anytime I can lose 10-15 degrees under my *** I'm going to take it, and that means Amsoil for this guy.

YMMV

When I switched from H-D syn to Amsoil, I noticed a 10 degree drop in oil temp. Less friction, less heat...

I noticed the same drop in temp when going grom syn3. Only difference is I went to Schaffers 20-50 racing. Here is the big deal. Schaffers can be had for about 6 bucks a quart. Much cooler running then other synthetics, motor is much quieter and smoother running. Oil pressure does not drop off on hot days. Just can't use it in the primary. I use mobil 1 synthetic atf in the primary and Redline in the transmission.

This has to be a stretch. Kevin Trudeau will be selling amsoil next. If friction makes the oil 10deg. hotter then magnets on the fuel line will benefit 15mpg,pigs will fly, etc. The auto industry spends millions to improve mpg. If friction could be reduced significanly with amsoil they`d be using it, not telling the public and posting mpg increases. Flame on.....

The thing is is that the H-D Syn 3 is basically over priced Horse **** packaged in quart bottles.
