Default Tank emblem coming off

Anyone ever have any trouble with their tank emblems coming off. My right one on my 06 Road King Custom is starting to pull away from the tape. The tape is still stuck to the tank. Thinking of either trying to fix it or take it off and do some pin striping.

Took mine off of the old RK I had. Loved the look of the clean tank. Nearly all my buddies just shook their head at me though. I used a little GOO OFF a hair dryer (was in winter time) and a credit card to scrape. Take your time. Didn't damage clear coat and looked good 4 years later when I got a new bike.

Mine recently fell off my 2010 Street Glide. It took me about 45 minutes with a hair dryer, fishing line and some 3W adhesive remover, but man do I like the look of that clean tank!

Thank you. Those are 16" Carlinis and i absolutely love them! When you take yours off I tried the fishing line thing and I found it to be a pita. I used a cc to take off the emblems and then goo off or gone whatever its called for the sticky stuff. Just take it slow!

I took off the tank emblems when I had my gas tank painted, and just never got around to putting them back on.

I think my '07 emblem is the same as your '06. I like the looks of that emblem but the sleek look of no emblem at all is nice too. If you decide to put it back on, 3M double-sided tape for automotive emblems should be available at Advance Auto or Auto Zone. I used it to put a WS-6 emblem back on a TransAm and it worked great.

I took my emblems off the day I got my bike! Never liked the look of those gawdy emblems on the tank. Smooth is the way to go IMHO!!
