I also have it mounted on my engine guard. I like it and I use it frequently.

I use the lock through the front rotor method also. Bought a heavy Master style lock with a shank that will just fit into the small holes drilled in the rotor. Easily get two helmets on it. Been out of the business for a while but handcuff keys used to be pretty much universal. Found lots of perps out there with them on their key chains.

Do you set your helmet on the foot peg after wrapping it around the front rotor?

I took the universal ones and cut them so could be mounted flat on the bottom of the tour pack. Works out, if it rains when you are away from the bike your helmet stays dry.
