Yes, it's pretty light weight and someone with a nice pair of cable cutters can walk off with it. But it seems to deter those less equipped.
Do you walk around with cable cutters or bolt cutters in your back pocket.
It is just to keep kids fingers away from a helmet.

I use a "Gun Cable Lock" like this one. They are cheap and you can get them anywhere they sell guns.
I bought mine at Walmart.

I got mine at an Army Surplus store ...( not used ) they had many new sets available.

You could also check with your local police department. They were not able to sell me a set but told me where I could get some.

You can also buy them from the Smith & Wesson website..

I bought a small retractable cable type lock that stores easily in the tour pak. When we lock our helmets we run it thru the loops in our helmets and lock them to the backrest. Haven't had any real issues yet. In case of bad weather we store our helmets in the tour pak and then lock that

My brother has one on the engine crash bars of his Heritage Softail for his and his wife's helmets. I have one on the downtube of the frame on the left side. I keep a bicycle lock cable in my bag to run through the sleeve of my leather jacket and helmet when I want to walk around.

Wow ..some really good ideas! I love the "gun lock" idea. I've got a shoebox full of those things in the shop. And the handcuffs ...thats awesome! Got a set of those in my Glock range bag from my former LEO days. My ol'lady won't let me use'em on her, so I guess I can use them to lock the helmet to the bike.

Thanks Dudes!

That's what I use. Run it though the d rings and lock it on the handle bars.
