Default wide band O2 sensor question

It seems that the Smart Tune feature in the Screamin Eagle Super Tuner and the V tune in the TTS system use stock O2 sensors while the Power Commander and the Thundermax use wide band sensors for their autotune functions.

Can the wide band systems do a better job? Or are there details that I am missing?
Thanks for any input.

Check out the latest issue of A.I.M. magazine. There is a good article on open and closed loop systems by Doc. Dyno. You could probably call him too for more info.
