Default 2010 limited engine light

I posted this a few days ago and thought I'd pass on the update. Engine light comes on or stays on 4 times now in one week. Dealer is going to put new throttle sensor on bike when they get one.Based on codes they took from history. In the meantime if the bike runs ok it is ok to ride according to them. So I am riding. With caution but riding as it is my primary means.
Sorry but I think I screwed up tradin my roadking in on this one as the roadking was reliable as hell for 40,000mi..
This limited is a nice bike but my gut feelin is the moco may have a throttle issue and is keepin it under raps. Right or wrong @ 25.000.00 bucks I would think this type of issue should be way in the past and R&d work isn't being passed on to the consumer again as it was with the 07's
So in the end my logic is I will get this bike back and ride. Should this issue reoccur this bike will have to go and I'll be lookin for an older HD that I know at Least I can wrench on and keep it reliable and on the road without havin to rely on the moco and their dealers to ride daily.

I had something similar happen to me last week. The dealer said it was the PCIII I have installed (funny, hadn't had any problems for a year) and guys on the forum swore it was the throttle grip sensor. Lone behold I had a cut wire just above one of the harnesses in the headlight. Problem solved and it cost me hardly nothing since I was able to find the problem and fix it myself.

See here:https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...de-issues.html

It may or may not be your problem, but thought I would share my experience anyway as I was all set to order a new sensor before I figured out what the issue was.

mja thanks for the info. this bike is only 5 weeks old so it's my problem for harley to fix and with the ext warranty it could be theirs for a while.
Fat Hoss, think i am thinkin along those same lines only back to a 1340. was clearly the best hd i have ever owned. I must say though this limited is a really nice ridin bike so maybe harely can make it right the first time. the dealer i deal with has always done right by me although i really can't say the same for the moco.
