Is 35MPG horrible, considering?

I have FuelMoto's map too. On a recent trip with my daughter, we got around 46 mpg on mostly two-lane rural riding. Rarely over 70 mph, but quite a few hills and mountains.
Last Friday I rode across Nevada and back. Lots of speeds in the 90s and heavy cross winds. Mileage dropped to about 30 mpg.

I'm glad to hear these numbers as
I'm getting about 37 miles per imperial gallon combined. I do use 6th gear as much as I can when traveling above 65 mph as long as I'm not going uphill. I know my bike is running rich as I am running V&H monster ovals with a stage 1. It's a trade off if you want it to run cool. I'm certainly not going to be worried about getting the best mileage if I have a performance package. You want big #'s then buy an hybrid.

I'm envious of those that are getting great fuel mileage. I get a consistent 30 to 31 mpg & that's on the highway. Just checked my fuel mileage from a ride in Austin where a 20 mph wind was at my back & we were doing 70 & I got 33. One more time at the dyno shop to figure out this mess.
This past weekend on two tanks doing mostly 6th gear, some 5th, a few hills and 99% freeway at around a constant 80mph I only got just shy of 32mpg.
Now I know I would do much better at lower speeds but the stretch of I-84 between Boise and Twin Falls there just ain't that much to look at.
Yes Sir, TexasVet has one damn fine bike

bamorris you have a canned map you need to get tune by a good tuner. The maps you get sent for free are worth what you pay for them.
I went the same route and then had it tuned and got more power amd smother throttle responce, plus it went from 35mpg to 40-41. If I am on it hard it drops back to the mid 30's.
