put ipod in tank console..;
Just cant leave things alone. Have been using velcro to hold Ipod and got sick of it so I pulled console and cut spot for it. Took longer than I thought. Ran cord under tank. Can still pull Ipod out to charge it, if I hit rain will just put Ipod in ziplock and put back in console. I think its gona work. If not just have to buy new insert for console..not much of a down side risk..

LOL...well the trim is actually the stuff some people put on the edge of their car doors to prevent scratches. Not even sure what its called...door molding?? I tried several different things under the console including a fiberglass dish type thing I made but ended up with a 3" thick piece of foam. Cut out the center to hold Ipod then cut the end so cord could go thru. Had to cut foam down several times as there isnt a whole lot of room under the console. I used 3M double side adhesive to hold foam in place. the foam is pinched between the tank and console as well. Not sure if this is the final unit. I was thinking about molding a thiner fiberglass basket and then mold it to a new insert. Not sure yet...I like the foam because it stops vibration and squishes nicely between tank and console.
