Thanks for the responses. I pm'd a couple of you with questions. So many seem satisfied with the "new" 2010 seat, but my 07 seat was much better & no, a pre 09 won't fit on a 2010. The 2010 pushes me forward. It also sits you in a deep pocket which to me ( and my bud's is not comfortable. Like I mentioned before. Both my bud's dumped their seats this weekend. Also, I'm still curious if the backrest off my 07 is different than a backrest for a 2010. If a new backrest would allow me to lean back a bit, I would switch that for starters . Someone spoke of bending the backrest legs in a vise, but I think I would want more info before I tried that.

A new seat is not out of the question, but so hard to buy.

Never been satisfied with HD seat except on the deluxe, love Mustang seats pricey but comfortable. Most of my friends switched to Mustang in last 3 years or so.

I can make it about 200 miles before the "boys" start to burn and the buns go numb. I had this problem with the Road King seat until I went to the sundowner. I am hoping the more that I ride the better it will get. I now have 4000 miles on it and it does not seem to be getting better.

had exactly the same problem as cchips. on a 3000 mile trip to Fl a few weeks ago couldn't go more than 200m before my ars nerves were on fire. I put my $40 beadrider beads on and rode the other 2800 miles w/o problems. rode 10 to 12 hours in hot weather too. like the last HD dresser seat, this is junk too. the seat before, I think, 2005, that was in use many many years was a great seat.

I switched to the new lower seat and I like it. It is lower and seems a little smaller from front to back and as for the back rest you need to remember it's still at the same height it was before you put the lower seat on so it will be higher on you back. It's not a big deal to me but I may shorten it to put it in the same position it was with the old seat.

Swapped for the low and glad I did. 5'7" with 30" inseam and now I can sit flat footed. Did a 600 mile run the other day and felt great when the ride was done.

I just switched to the new low version as its being called, and I to think its better. But the only thing lower on the seat is the pan which allows for and additional inch of foam and the foam is a little denser too. It has a bit of a bowl shape as compared to the earlier seat. Which provides more support under the hips. Also its cut more narrow up front to give better footing. And yes there is a difference in the backrest and the backrest mounting bracket. The new bracket for the newer models has a different angle and the newer backrest pivots to fit the angle of your back.
