Yes, the pipes will get louder after you get some miles on them. If you want noise and racket, the SE Touring mufflers are not the ones to go with.
Which SE slip-ons do you have? HD has two SE slip-ons:
SE Street Performance, I think these are 3” diameter, PN 80721-09: one piece
SE Street Performance Touring, 4” diameter, w/EPA stamp, PN 80732-09: requires end caps
I have the PN 80732-09 on my 2009 SG. I was out for a set of pipes that provide more performance and with the least amount of noise. My rider asked to keep the mufflers on the quiet side so we can use the stereo and iPods. At first the mufflers were just a bit louder than stock, as expected. Now there is about 2000 miles on them and they are noticeably louder than stock, but not excessive to us and no issues with the stereo and iPods.
