Default Happened today in Asheville, NC

APD received a call at about 3 p.m. that a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle had been struck by a red 2000 Suzuki Forenza in the area of 7 Tunnel Road.

The motorcycle was headed eastbound and the car was headed westbound.
Earlier story: 4 injured in East Asheville wreck.
For reasons not known at this time, the car’s driver lost control, crossed all lanes of traffic, and struck the Harley nearly head on.

There were two people on the Harley and both were thrown from the motorcycle.

The motorcycle driver sustained critical injuries and died at Mission Hospital. His female passenger sustained injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

The Suzuki driver ran from the scene on foot, leaving behind the car, which was a rental, and two passengers.

Detectives are at this time interviewing those two passengers, a man and a woman, about the crash and where the driver might be located.

Police are also conferring with the Buncombe County District Attorney’s Office on potential charges in the case.

Names will be released pending family notification and further investigation. The girl on the back of the bike was his daughter

In my local town last week, a woman made an illegal left turn in front of an on-coming Harley rider. The bike stuck the side of the vehicle and the female driver fled to her home not far away. A witness followed her and contacted the police, who arrested her for leaving the scene of an accident, no drivers' license and no insurance. The rider died this last weekend.

Reports say this person had been drinking in a brewery in downtown Asheville most of the afternoon. Needs to be caught and gutted

These kind of things are happening more and more. I believe part of it is because of our judicial system is so easy on these parasites. How many families have to be ruined before they get tough. I don't know how old his Daughter is, but think about her seeing her father killed in front of her....so sad!

Now the stories begin...These stories hurt me deep inside. A lost of a family member and or close friend while riding is tragic at the very least, and I have very little patience for the police report to site the cagers for the whatever's, and the death of the rider is reported as a no fault as if to say "well he shouldn't have been on a bike"...otherwise he would be alive today.

That will never happen in this country...Hell we (USA) can't even find justification to interrogate aggressively, that would save thousands of lives. I know I need to move my attitude to the Political Section.
