O.k. fellas how often going down the highways do you guys lean far enough to your right to look at your air cleaner cover! Similar to your old ladies, They're for riding, not for looking at.

Funny, you have to agree with everyone's comments! I mean, it looks unfinished, the ugly parts show, it's unique, it's like all of the above.

I will say that the bolt is really only visible if you get down to it's level, otherwise you don't see it.

In it's current state though it doesn't strike me as I had hoped it would. I don't mind oneoffness and unique but if it doesn't look like a pro job then it may look like sheeeeettt!

Cutting it round with a sock probably wouldn't look bad, I like that look. Removing the matching cutaway on the front side might not be too bad or, it may look like sheeeettt too.

I'll sit on it for a while and see what happens. Like I said, gave it a shot, was just thinking outside of the airbox.

Thanks for all the comments and appreciate any more

........... i agree w/ya, but tell that to the guys walkin'round @ bike nite.

..... nice take on modding the cover, but that back cut looks pointy & sharp to me. Wouldn't wanna bump a knee too hard into it when maneuvering the scoot in a tight place.

If that were true, there wouldn't be so many after-market options.

but other than that looks good.
The LTR/RTL belonged to my fellow Vietnam Vet, and Best friend that rode with me. He passed in 2004. I have it on so a little of him is still riding with me.

Now that looks good. It follows the lines of the push rods.

I like that one RocknRod that you have, I agree on the good lines of following the engine. I thought about that cut but it would have left the front open like I tried to avoid on this.

I wish I had a few more to operate on and see what I could come up with but I have to admit, my custom job here is growing on me.

I think I'll run it for a while. I guess as long as kids don't throw rocks at me and mothers don't pull their kids off the street when I come by maybe it won't be too bad
