I like the stock Dunlops; I don't ride it like a crotch rocket so I don't need softer compound Metzlers, I'd rather have the tire last longer. I don't have any issues with road grooves or handling either. They're also a little cheaper. I know a lot of people use the E3s but I don't think they technically have a rear that is rated for 2 up touring (although people use them with no issues).
I don't tow a trailer but I do ride 2 up most of the time.

E3s have higher load raiting than stock dunlops. And when i was shopping for tires, they were also the cheapest tire i found.
That being said, after 5,000 miles on front and rear E3s im not to impressed, front end has low speed wobble that is known to be associated with the E3s, they are noisey, and seem to be getting noisier with the more miles I put on them. I will probaly go back to stock next tire change...
