Default Changing Road Glide Handle bars

want to help a friend change out his bars on a Road Glide... So are there any short cuts/tricks to getting to all four bolts??? Just put mine together and it looks like the middle tac/speedo has to be split - ugh....??????

Pretty simple.... with the two small torx screws removed from the left & right side(s) of the tach/speedo housing, you can carefully move the gauges to the side.

The top two clamp bolts have a straight shot to them. The lower two clamp bolts are just under the remaining plastic trim. I have always used an allen wrench with a "ball tip" on the bottom clamp bolts. Once in place, you can "carefully" pull the allen wrench to a near straight shot on the bolts. It is possible that you may need a box end wrenc to us as a cheater on the short end ot the allen wrench, or you could slide a boxend wernch (the same size as the allen) up onto the allen wrench before you put it in the bolt and use the wrench for better leverage....

While you're in there, be sure to cut the zip strap that cinches the brake hose and wiring up the the upper tripple tree clamp. It will let ya pull out some additional slack for the new bars...

Loosen the four bolts on the forks that hold the housings together. It will make it easier to acess the handlebar bolts and reduce the chance for damage.

You can also notch out a circle above the 2 bottom bolts heads with a dremal tool. The notches will be covered when you put the gauge pod back together
