Default Found Metal shavings

..... in my oil when I drained it. some small bits of metal as well. Doesn't sound good. There is something bigger I think though that is still rattling in the crank case.

What year is the bike? How many miles? Might be the INA bearings..... Hard to say with so little information.

05 UC, 36k miles. when I start it, it sounds like something clanking around in the crankcase.

I wouldn't run it anymore until you get to the bottom of what it is. First thing I would do is pull the cam cover and cam plate and have a look at the inner bearings. Drain your motor and primary first though to see which one has the shavings in it.

Are we talking engine or primary. I assumed engine but someone said something about the primary.

A little "fuzz" on your magnet is not something to be too concerned over but the rattling in the crankcase, well.....

Are you sure it's not the compensator rattling?

I thought that for a minute, but it sounds like a really small bearing bouncing around in the crankcase or like a spacer ring or some sort of flat ring that came lose. Hard to pinpoint without looking into it and I don't have the knowledge to dig past taking covers off, so it will have to go to a shop and I'm low on funds right now.

Given that , does anyone wanna buy a bass guitar? lol

If you have a decent set of tools, you can go buy the service manual from HD for about $65. With that manual you will be surprised how easy it can be to do your own work. You will know when you have found the problem and there's something very satisfying about wrenching on your own scoot IMO.
