Question Aftermarket (non-HD) passing lamp?

Before I sold the UC to bro #2, the left passing lamp burned out and I bought a replacement at the dealer...nigh on $30!! Now the bike is his, and the right one burned out on our trip last month. I told him I'd ask the experts (here) if these were a generic mini-sealed-beam, or a HD-specific part. If a widely available aftermarket unit, is there a model number to look for, like the old 4001, 4002, 6051 and 6052 sealed beams of the 1960's? When I tried a search (here), I kept getting hits on bulb inserts like the 9004-style.

What about a retrofit light "shell" that would accept the replaceable bulb capsules?

Thanks!

If it's the old style sealed beam, just get a par 3 sealed beam. Google par 3 sealed and you will see all your options.

Ahhhhh, I got it now! From Wikipedia, the PAR (Parabolic Aluminized Reflector) number is indicative of eighths of an inch, so a PAR64 lamp would be 8" in diameter...our 4-1/2" lamps would be PAR36 series (36 x 1/8" = 4-1/2"). All clear now. Thanks.

I got a box of PAR 36 lamps (5 bulbs) for $30 off Fleabay. 36 watt was a nice upgrade from the 27watt Halogens that cost $45 each. They have a 30 degree beam which is nice too. I mostly use them in traffic to make myself more noticable, rather than seeing.
One burned out right away and the others have held up. At $6.00 each I didn't care.
