I have a stock '10 UC and the only time I have noticed the EITMS kicking in is after stopping for a minute or so (traffic light, heavy traffic) in temperatures of 85F and higher.

My '07 hits EITMS at 290°--which is a bit higher than the newer bikes, I think--and it almost never happens. At the moment I have a CHT gauge on the bike and it hit 280° briefly today in heavy traffic, but that's about as high as it ever goes. It has to be very congested for quite a while before it kicks in.
