not sure about the 06, but on my 10 I only needed to change out the clutch and brake lines for 12.5". only needed to re-route the wireing in the fairing to pick up some slack. not sure but you may be able to get away with the same thing on 13", dont know about 14" though.

I have a 06 street glide and im interested in apes. I wanna get the kind like gibby122 i think? any suggestions

Before you spend the money, be sure to check for any laws concerning ape height.

Some states have laws (Utah is one, don't know about Miss) that state your hands cannot be higher than your shoulders

I just swapped an 2009 RK (with stock handlebars) for a 2011 RK (with 16" apes) and, for me, it completely changed how I steered.

If anything, it makes it easier to turn corners, which was counter-intuitive for me.

Also, as a side note, the apes also make it much easier to lift the bike off the jiffy stand

Just my $.02
