There have been a number of posts here regarding the radio bracket rubbing through the fairing on the RG. Checking mine for the first time (07 with 37k miles), the bracket had started to rub on the front fairing, and it would have just been a matter of time before it would have worn through, making a hole in my custom painted fairing. The rear fairing was okay. Anyway, just wanted to give a heads up to the RG owners to check this on their bikes. I have read on this site that dealers have fixed this under warranty, if you're still covered.

 

I had a 2000 RG with no problems. I now have a 2008 RG, again with no problems. This is the first I have heard about this.

 

It seems to be a problem on some but not all RGs. The best thing to do is check. From what I have read there are a number of fixes being made. Most look fairly easy to do.

 

Aslan is correct. Some have it and some don't. Prudent to check.

 

Cut two pieces of of gas hose about 2" long, split and slide on the exposed bracket.
Worked for me.
