So they repealed the helmet law, but they still won't be giving out vendor license so all those that make money from biker gear can be there to sale. The city of Myrtle Beach spoke loud and clear when they re-elected that POS mayor that put those laws in effect in the first place.
All it really means is that the folks who live there dont have to helmet up for a couple miles every time they want to go for a ride. All it means to me is that if I pass through on US 17, I dont have to helmet up for just a few miles or go out of my way to avoid it. To those who wear helmets, it means nothing. The Bike Weeks are gone for good in that city.
Myrtle Beach is invalid. Could you imagine if every town could adopt it’s own laws. It would be the end of free travel in the U.S. – one town would ban pants on the ground, another tats, still another woman with bit **** . . .
Went to MB several years and it rocked. Problem is there were 2 bike weeks and I don't think the first one caused all of this. Maybe I am wrong but feel sorry for some of the places in and around MB. Still will stop in at SBB if ever back in the area.

You're right, but it's not just the bike weeks. On a recent trip to Maryland I passed *through* there. Myrtle Beach is a nice easy days ride up the coast for me, but as I neared the area it was time to stop for the day. I fueled up south of Myrtle Beach, used the GPS to locate a motel north of the area & left only exhaust for the fine folks in Myrtle Beach. I'll never drop a dollar there again!
