Default "Top Tier Gas"?!

So I saw this 76 Gasoline ad and there was a reference to "Top Tier" and I figured - here we go again. BUT then I did a quick search and there's maybe something to this:

http://www.toptiergas.com/

TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Six of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

TOP TIER Gasoline Retailers:
QuikTrip
Chevron
Texaco
MFA Oil Co.
Conoco
Phillips 66
76
Entec Stations
Shell
The Somerset Refinery, Inc.
Kwik Trip / Kwik Star
Aloha Petroleum
Tri-Par Oil Co.
Turkey Hill Minit Markets
Mileage Stations
Road Ranger
CountryMark
Chevron Canada
Shell Canada
Petro-Canada
Sunoco Canada

I found that site a number of years ago. I always try to run Top Tier fuel in all my vehicles.

Funny...I don't see BP on the list. Probably because their oil is tainted with salt water.

No more Costco for my cars. My bikes - well they always get Shell or Chevron.

Man, that sucks. Looks like two stops now; one for gas, one for coffee.

I notice ARCO's not on the list. I've said for years I'd push my bike past an ARCO station to get to a Chevron or Shell station.

Damn, I always stayed away from the Turkey Hills and some of the others because of the one hose for all three grades. I suppose I should re-think that. I saw on one of the threads on this forum that the gas doesn't stay in the hose anyway and you get what you pay for. I'll have to re-map my gas stops now... Thanks.

BP has never been on the Top Tier list. They just don't qualify (probably because they don't want to incur the additional expense of the additional additives). I have known about Top Tier gas for years and have used it almost exclusively (mostly Shell) for both my bikes and cars.
