Default Fix for the 09 touring seats breaking nuts and dimpleing fenders?

I remember reading about the 09's having some problems denting the rear fenders and breaking the seat nuts in the rear fender.. Seemed there is a fix for it where the dealer installs some supports(bolts) under the seat on the frame to keep the stock seats from flexing and breaking the seat tab/pan and messing up the fender.

Anyways, cant seem to find the thread with the TSB info in it....or bulletin number or whatever... Anyone know what or where?

Although mine is fine since I changed out to my 08 Mean City Cycle modded seat, sounds like cheap insurance....

Thanks

I'm on my second seat and fender. Guess it's time for another one of each plus a bumper kit. Glad there's now a fix!!

Default Update!!!

For those interested...I bought the parts mentioned in the bulletin. Cost was only 1.50 and figure its cheap insurance for the rear fender problems some people have had on the 09'. Dealer said its because the streetglides dont have the saddle bag gaurds like roadkings etc for the seat to be supported by. Hence these parts. Theres a couple pics for those interested here ...

From what I gather, It only applies to Streetglides and maybe road glides.. The seat pans on the 09s are different and have been flexing on some peoples bike causing the rear seat mounting tang to bend, break, and/or screw up the rear fender by putting a dent in it. This is because no support under the seat on streat glides etc cause we dont have the saddle bag guards supporting the seat.
I personally DID NOT have that problem YET...but read many posts on here of ithers that had...and those that had to get rear fenders replaced.
From all that info, and the bulletin that HD came out with, I bought the parts and was showing others what it is exactly IF they wanted to safe gaurd against any possible damage like others experienced. Like I said, mine hadnt damaged anything ...plus I switched back to a 2008 SG seat anyways due to better foam...but figured what the hell. The extra support cant hurt anything aafterall...
