19" Front wheel on a Bagger - 120/70/19
I was looking at some wheels at HogPro...checking out their bike gallery...alot of good shots there... so i saw a couple of Baggers running a 19" front wheel...with a 120/70/19" tire (i think it's actually a V-Rod front tire).. they looked pretty nice. I've been thinking about maybe some new wheels..but i'm leery of the big 21"...... Thoughts?

Nothing to be leery about with a 21"; it does make the bike handle a little different but not bad. It's actually more stable at speed and crosses road irregularities much better than smaller diameter wheels/tires.
I would recommend that you drop the front end 1 to 1 1/2" though to get the stock stance back.
You can use the stock front fender with a 21" but you do have to drill out the back two mounting holes to 3/8" and rock the fender forward when tightening it down. I am running an Avon 130/70/21 and have had zero issues in 6000 miles so far.
I am sure the 19" is fine as well. I like the look of a 21" stuffed into the stock front fender.

i already have the 18" up front (stock 2010 cast wheel) and i actually would probably keep a 16" in the rear... i'd rather keep the extra "meat" under the back end...i don't really even see the back wheel..
Was just kinda thinking about the 19" up front for a little something extra / a little something different.....but not as drastic as the 21".. I'm not into lowering the front either..not looking to get that crazy
I like my SG so far...LOVE the way it rides

i like the way you think....but, IF i go with new wheels..and pick the 19" / 16" combo... i would be running the Stock 2010 SG rear tire and the 120/70/19 front tire is a stock V-Rod tire.... thats actually one of the advantages of this set up.... although it's not too common ..it's all widely available
