K and P oil fiters???
Does anybody use the K and P oil filters? They say it acts as a oil cooler as will as a good oil filter.
My bikes oil temp runs about 255 on the highway (150 mile ride) a little high but I dont think enough to get an oil cooler (or should I cnsider the oil cooler?). I am running HD syn, going to mobile 1 next change.
Would the K and P be a good investment to lower the temp at least a little?

Would never us the K&P. Stainless mess is dangerous as a filter. IT is a very poor filter(micron wise) and the are easily clogged along with a pain to clean. THe cooler part is a minimum benefit if any.

I have been using the K&P for the last 28,000 miles and consider it the best filter I have used. Amaizing how fine the particlesit captures. I always feel better knowing whats going on in the motor between oil chages and I like not having to toss out old filters.
This technology is use in airplane motors so it's almost overkill using it on a bike.
As for cooling go with an 10 row oil cooler.

I just installed a K&P filter. It is a very nice looking part and seems to be very well made. There is no difference in the oil temp after installing it. I also have a HD premium cooler.
IMO you should install the cooler. You will see a 30 degree drop in oil temp.

have one and love it, i don't think it helps with temp but when you clean it you can see whats going on in your motor, it also filters better than paper filters yet alows better flow and oil pressure

Not trying to sound like a smart $%#, but how do you know it filters better than a paper filter? Are you basing this on manufacturers marketing or real world testing? Curious because I've been tossing this option around for a while. Just interested in how you sumized it was superior. Thanks

i talked to several engine builders in my area who had done testing, they told me it filtered better than paper and had better flow, also the builders that told me this did not sell them, they were users of them
