Default WO515 CHUBBY® 10" APE HANGERS, On the way

I just found these bars, brand new for $175 shipped. I still have stock cable/wires. I've heard I will not have to get new cables/wires and I have also heard I will. This will be my 2nd change out from the Heritage bars(which are for sale) and many of you go through a few change outs till you find the ones that fit you. I might want to go to the 502's which are are 2.5"'s higher and I might not. What are my options? Should I just go ahead and get cables/wires that will fit the 502's? What will it look like on the 515's? Maybe I'll wait til Monday and give Wild 1 Chubbys a call

I recently put the 513s on my RK - they are 8 1/2" rise - and I did extend the wires, the brake lines, and throttle cables all 4 to 6". It's a little overkill for these bars (might go higher later), but for 10" or 12" I think you definitely need the 4" longer to avoid stress on any of those. I would also opt for 4" on the clutch cable, which I did not replace but it is stretched tight on a full right turn. I really like these bars but I wish I had gone 10 or 12!

I have the 515's on my Road Glide. Great set of bars.

On a Road Glide you have to move the routing of the clutch cable from it's forward location to a little bit aft but on a Road King you could probably get away with where the cable is mounted at now. Don't know.

What I do know is that the bars are very comfortable. I too had the heritage bars...

Would I go to the 502s? Yeah I would and may in the future.

So I should get wires/cables to fit the 502's? Will tghe extra slack look ok with 515's?

Senior, I have the Chubby's 10" apes and they are sweet. How tall are you?

lp......you got any pictures of those WE515's on your Road Glide.....I have an 09 SE model, put on the Harley hammock seat which raised me up I'll bet 1 1/2" over that stock seat....so I am looking for some apehangers for possibly a winter project.
I sure wish we could pm members THANKS

Here is a pic of some 12.5"'s my buddy put on yesterday.

As you can see his hands are a little bit above the fairing now. He the sterling chromite II cables as well. They are beautiful!

I like the fly apes on the soft tail in the back ground. Have you ever seen a set of those on a Road Glide?

I'm sure he's asking to see if the bars are going to be too short for you. If you're 6 foot I would definitely recommend the 502s...
I'm 5'9" and the 515's are lower than I would like.
